Stages and assignees

A record walks a path, and it has someone responsible for it. Both sit at the top of the record page.

Moving the stage

If the module has stages, the step track appears at the top of the record with the current stage marked. You move a step forward or back from the track itself, and the change is saved at once.

Assigning

Assigning says: this record is so-and-so's responsibility. The assignees show on the record page right under the stages, and you pick them in the record form ("Assign To").

Assignment is used by:

  • Filtering a table down to your own records
  • Workflow notifications aimed at "the record's owner"
  • Emails whose recipient comes from a field on the record

Who appears in the list

The list of people comes from your workspace's users. If the field is an employee field limited to certain roles, only people with those roles appear — that is set in the field's own settings.
